Blog & Article Pages

Build editorial content, journals, guides, and announcements using the Blog and Article templates.

Essential for SEOSupports comments & paginationConfigurable aspect ratios

SAISON includes beautifully styled blog and article templates designed to elevate your editorial content. Whether you are running a simple announcements page or a high-end lifestyle journal, these templates provide the necessary structure.

The Blog Template (blog.json)

The Blog template is the main listing page for your posts (e.g., /blogs/news).

1

Choose a layout

In the Theme Editor, navigate to Blogs > Default blog. You can choose between a standard grid or editorial masonry layouts.

2

Configure Image Aspect Ratios

Ensure your blog images look uniform. In the Blog Posts section settings, choose an Image ratio (e.g., Landscape 16:9, Square 1:1). Mixing aspect ratios without cropping enabled will make the grid look uneven.

3

Show/Hide Meta Data

Toggle whether to show the post Date, Author, and Tags. If your brand voice is a single entity, it is often best to hide the author name.

The Article Template (article.json)

The Article template is the individual post page where the customer reads the content.

  • Toggle Author and Date display (matches the blog settings).
  • Enable or disable social sharing buttons for the article.
  • Ensure 'Back to blog' navigation is clear at the bottom.
  • Add a 'Related Articles' section below the main content so customers keep reading.

Blog Comments & Pagination

If you have enabled comments in your Shopify Admin (Online Store > Blog Posts > Manage Blogs), SAISON will automatically render a beautifully styled comment form and comment thread at the bottom of the article.

Info

Comment Pagination: If a post receives many comments, SAISON will automatically paginate them based on Shopify's native limits (usually 50 per page) to ensure fast load times.

Common Mistakes

  • Treating the blog as a product grid: Blogs should be editorial. Use larger images and readable typography.
  • Forgetting related articles: Don't let the customer hit a dead end at the bottom of an article.
  • Inconsistent featured images: Uploading one portrait and one landscape image makes the blog index look broken.
