Layout sections shape the whole storefront. Merchants should configure them before polishing individual pages because header contrast, sticky behavior, announcement messages, and footer links affect every template.

Recommended Setup Order

  • Set logo files, favicon, and social share image in Theme settings.
  • Configure header logo size, menu, search, account, cart, and localization.
  • Test transparent header over the homepage hero and a non-transparent header on product pages.
  • Add announcement messages only after shipping, discount, or campaign details are confirmed.
  • Build footer menus from support questions: shipping, returns, contact, size guide, policies, stockists, and account help.
  • Check mobile menu, search, cart, and footer link order before launch.

Common mistakes

  • Using transparent header over a hero that makes the logo or menu unreadable.
  • Letting announcement bars stack so much that mobile customers lose first-screen content.
  • Building mega menus around internal collection names instead of customer language.
  • Leaving placeholder social links, newsletter copy, or footer menu items.
  • Forgetting to test the header on product pages, collection pages, and the cart drawer.
