System Pages

System pages are easily forgotten during the design process, but customers rely on them during the most important moments of their shopping journey (like checking out, getting lost, or creating an account).

Critical System Templates

SAISON provides beautifully styled templates for all required Shopify system pages. Ensure you review and customize each of these before launch:

1. Cart & Checkout

• Cart Page (cart.json): The full cart review page. See the Cart Guide for setup details.
• Checkout: Configured entirely within Shopify Admin (Settings > Checkout), not in the Theme Editor.

2. Customer Management

• Customer Accounts: Login, registration, and order history. See the Customer Accounts Guide for details on Classic vs New accounts.

3. Utility Pages

• Password Page (password.json): The locked storefront page used before launch. See the Password Page Guide.
• 404 Page (404.json): The error page shown when a link is broken. See the 404 Page Guide.
• Search Page (search.json): Displays full search results. See the Search & Filters Guide.
• Gift Card (gift_card.liquid): The receipt page for purchased gift cards. See the Gift Cards Guide.

Policy Pages

Shopify requires certain policy pages (Privacy, Terms of Service, Shipping, Returns).

• ✓Generate or paste your policies in Shopify Admin under Settings > Policies.
• ✓Shopify automatically creates pages for these policies at specific URLs (e.g., /policies/privacy-policy).
• ✓SAISON applies a clean, readable typographic layout to these policy pages automatically.
• ✓Link to your policy pages in your Footer menus.

Common Mistakes

• Leaving default policy copy unfinished: Ensure you remove the bracketed [INSERT HERE] text from Shopify's generated policies.
• Forgetting password page branding: Don't launch your marketing campaigns with a blank, unbranded password page.
• Treating the cart page and cart drawer as the same experience: Test both!
