Theme Editor Basics
SAISON is built for Shopify's theme editor. Most storefront changes happen by editing templates, adding sections, configuring blocks, and adjusting theme settings.
Templates
Templates control page types. SAISON includes templates for homepage, product, product 60-40, collection, editorial collections, about, contact, FAQ, privacy, shipping and returns, blog, article, search, cart, password, and 404.
If you change a template, every page using that template can be affected. For one-off pages, create or assign a dedicated template before making large structural changes.
Sections
Sections are the main page building blocks. Examples include Split hero, Featured product grid, Image text grid, Product recommendations, Featured reviews, Contact details and form, and Cart drawer.
Add sections to build page flow. Reorder them to change the story. Delete sections you are not using so the page remains focused.
Blocks
Blocks live inside sections. A slideshow can have slide blocks, a featured product can have product information blocks, and a footer can have menu, newsletter, or social blocks.
Use blocks when you need repeated content inside one section. Use another section when you need a new page moment.
Theme Settings
Theme settings are global. They affect the whole storefront or a large feature family. Configure them before fine-tuning individual sections.
- Use Brand for logo, favicon, social share image, token presets, and swatch palettes.
- Use Layout and spacing before adjusting every section manually.
- Use Typography and Colors and surfaces to create a consistent visual system.
- Use Product selling for compare price, sale badges, cart drawer, quick add, and product card gallery behavior.
- Use Motion and interaction carefully so the storefront remains fast and comfortable.
App Blocks And Custom Liquid
Use app blocks where Shopify apps provide theme editor blocks. Use Custom liquid or Custom section only when an app or integration requires code. Keep custom code small and test it on mobile.
