The Password page (password.json) is the first impression customers have of your store before it officially launches. SAISON provides a highly customizable password page that allows you to collect emails and build hype.

Setting Up the Password Page

1

Enable the Password Page

Go to your Shopify Admin and navigate to Online Store > Preferences. Scroll down to the Password protection section, check "Restrict access to visitors with the password", and enter a password.

2

Edit the Password Template

In the Theme Editor, use the top dropdown menu and select Password.

Common Mistakes

  • Forgetting to test mobile: The password page is often a single full-screen experience. Ensure your background image and logo look good on mobile devices.
  • Not collecting emails: The pre-launch phase is the best time to build a mailing list. Always ensure the newsletter block is enabled.
  • Confusing store login with customer login: The password page is for store access. It is entirely separate from Customer Accounts.
